As a result of a mechanical registration problem, I discovered that my color laser printer prints black (and grey-shades) using all toners. This strikes me as extremely wasteful. It's also likely the source of excessive toner consumption I've observed with this printer (Samsung CLP620ND).
Intuition suggests that some appropriate setting within the printer's advanced configuration should stop the thing from printing black by combining colors, I cannot find it (and the manufacturer's tech support is clueless, and thus, useless).
So I turn to Photoshop CS6 native print output control whatnots. I cannot figure out how to make Photoshop to either 1) output color-sans-black to the printer; OR, force the printer to use black toner only for the black channel.
Clearly I'm in over my head here. After burning a couple hours of playing the "Internet-forum-keyword-search" game, and reading much about similar issues but nothing specific about my own, I've decided to post this request for some knowledgeable help with my dilemma.
Anyone?
